After you die without any mortal sins and you reach Purgatory, your entrance into heaven is based upon what state your final behavior or personality is in. All your faults, such as anger, judgement on others, lack of forgiveness to others, ingratitude, spitefulness, etc. need to be removed. In other words, your holiness depends on your giving up of all these worldly feelings and desires. You genuinely have to feel that you are letting go of these. If it’s anger for example, you may face situations that make you angry indefinitely, until you don’t get angry anymore. When you are rid of these sinful attributes, you can enter Heaven. It totally depends on you.

You may think, why would anyone not want to go to heaven? Well, in these days of ours, there is a lot of lukewarmness. We don’t think of our sinful activities as sinning. We justify our sinful behavior. So be very watchful of your behavior in this life. Remove your bad habits. When you live a virtuous life, through God’s grace, you will behave properly without effort. It should be natural not contrived. God looks at your heart, so clean it up. Practice humility, forgiveness, kindness, patience, diligence, charity, temperance, self-control. Of course, the fact that we are inherently selfish, it’s not an easy path. It’s hard work that leads to an immense reward of salvation and being with God in heaven one day. Please be watchful, as the Lord said:

“Remember then how you accepted and heard; keep it and repent. If you are not watchful, I will come like a thief, and you will never know at what hour I will come upon you.” (Revelation 3:3)
